What a wonder ful time we have had with our guests. This time we had 1 couple for 1 week and 1 couple for 2 weeks.
The time frame was great for rounding up the herd, sorting, tagging, watching them sell at the livestock auction and not least a true cattle drive of 3 + miles from pasture to the corn stalk circle.
We were able to take in the Medicine Lodge Peace Treaty parade and pagent.
Soon new pictures will be on the photo page. Be sure to keep checking to get a full picture report!
The rains of the first part of August has been refreshing. But we are still going to have some hot days. Now we have some cool mornings and evenings. The riding should be pleasant for next 2 months. Every thing has greened including all the weeds and stickers. Never the less is better to see the green than to see the brown grass. We never turn down rain here at the Ranch
This has been definitely a hot dry summer. We had two young ladies come the last 2 weeks of July. They loved riding but had to get up really early or wait until late evening. There was along time in between rides. They were artistic girls and spent many hot days inside making bridals for their horses back home. Our manager is a professional saddle maker and with his instruction they made very nice bridals. The girls got to see a rodeo. Because of the hot weather we were able to get tickets for everyone in a perfect place. They had a blast at the rodeo. They rode pastures and out on the road beside the ranch. They marveled at being able to see so far and at night they could see the stars come out in the night. They girls were sisters and the older one gave this vacation trip to her sister for graduation. So come see us and enjoy the peace and calmness of our ranch.
Easter Services and Family dinners are done. Now we concentrate on finalizing our ranch guest agendas.
We are looking forward to letting you see our wide open country and many diverse riding and working projects we have for you.
